Meet the Advisors
Trevor Wax

Mr. Wax joined the Mayfield FFA team in January of 2021 after receiving his Masters degree from NMSU. Mr. Wax is responsible for the Agriculture Mechanics pathway in which he teaches Introduction to Agriculture Mechanics, Metal Fabrication and Agriculture Power and Entrepreneurship. When he’s not at the school fixing or building cool projects with our students he’s at home with his wife tending to their dogs, horses and cattle.
Laycee Lowry

Hello! My name is Laycee Lowry, and I am an agriculture teacher and blessed to serve as one of two FFA advisors at Mayfield High School in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This is my second year at Mayfield High School, after previously teaching in Texas, and I am thrilled to be back home in New Mexico. I am currently in my tenth year of teaching agricultural education. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of courses, including floral design, animal science, agricultural mechanics, and agricultural entrepreneurship. I truly love teaching and working with students. Some of my favorite FFA contests to coach are the FFA Creed Speaking Contest, Parliamentary Procedure, Horticulture, and Entomology. I was born into a military family and raised in Belen, New Mexico. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education from New Mexico State University and am currently working toward my master’s degree. In May 2022, I married the love of my life, Dave Lowry, and together we are raising our two children, Cash and Abigail, who mean the world to me. Teaching was always the plan, but I never fully realized the lasting impact my students would have on my life and I am grateful for this profession every day.
